Barbara Moskal’s historic performance at the 2019 World Shooting Para Sport Championships in Sydney has landed her the votes to be named October’s Para Athlete of the Month.
The 25-year-old Polish athlete stamped her name as the top vision impaired shooter when the category made its Worlds debut in Sydney, Australia. She dominated the standing category to cap a strong season. She won the mixed 10m air rifle standing SH-VI event.
The 25-year-old has only been shooting visually impaired for three years.
Moskal received 60 per cent of the public votes, as German goalball player Oliver Hoerauf came in second with 22 per cent. Ukrainian shooter Oleksii Denysiuk was third with 11 per cent, followed by Swiss wheelchair racer Manuela Schaer and Japanese wheelchair tennis player Shingo Kunieda.
