Letshanaa Karupathevan had to settle for the runners-up spot at the Nepal International Junior Series badminton championships in Katmandu.
She could not find a way past reigning Asian Junior champion Tasnim Mir of India, losing 17-21, 14-21 in the final.
It is the third title in a space of one month for the Indian player, who was bagged the Indian national junior title last week.
Tasnim, however, failed to make it a double at the tournament as she and partner Ayan Rashid were beaten 17-21, 14-21 by teammates KS Murugappa-Sania Sikkandar in the mixed doubles finals.
India swept all five titles at stake including the boy’s single title through their newly crowned national junior champion Meiraba Luwang. The youngster dashed the hopes of a home favourite and top seeded Prince Dahal, winning 21-16, 21-23, 21-15.
