Ahmad Zikry Sazeli and Nur Fidrah Nor failed to advance to the semi-finals of the ongoing lawn bowls World Singles Champion of Champions tournament at the Adelaide Bowling Club in South Australia.
Eighteen year old Ahmad Zikry performed remarkably for his age, beating seven of his 11 opponents at the championships preliminary rounds. But with four losses in his section, he missed out on a place in the last four.
Ahmad Zikry, son of former national player Sazeli Sani, earned the right to represent Malaysia in the tournament after winning the national Champion of Champions tournament in Terengganu recently.
Mum-to-be Nur Fidrah Nor, picked up four wins and four losses in the preliminary rounds. The experienced bowler was dropped from the Manila SEA Games as she is pregnant but that did not stop her from giving her rivals the run for the money in Adelaide.
