
With one day to go before one year to go celebrations for the ANOC World Beach Games Bali 2023 get underway, the global governing umbrella of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) and the Indonesian National Olympic Committee (KOI) have revealed the full sports programme to the trendsetting beach and water sports event.
Air Badminton has been included in the roster that includes Open Water Swimming 5km, alongside previous edition sports holdovers Beach Soccer, Beach Handball, Individual Kata, Kite Foil, Beach Tennis, Aquathlon, Beach Volleyball 4×4 and Beach Wrestling.
Showcasing the vitality of the event, 3×3 Basketball, Rowing Beach Sprint and both longboard and shortboard Surfing have been added together with Air Badminton to the Bali 2023 programme.
The World Beach Games is also an opportunity to showcase different and modern disciplines that have proven popular with athletes and fans alike, a fact highlighted by Acting ANOC President Robin Mitchell.
“We cannot wait to once again have the privilege of watching the world’s best athletes compete in a celebration of elite beach and water sports. In Bali we have excellent partners who we have no doubt will deliver an unforgettable event next year,” Mitchell said. “Bali is known all around the world for its beaches and will provide the ultimate environment for our elite athletes; and stunning backdrops for our global audience.”
The Bali 2023 event is expected to garner more than 1,500 top-level athletes from more than 100 countries by qualifying through events.
